VIAVI is pleased to announce that CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Barry Johnson, Vice President, Global Channels  to its 2022 Channel Chiefs list. CRN’s annual Channel Chiefs project identifies top IT channel vendor executives who continually demonstrate expertise, influence and innovation in channel leadership.

A panel of CRN editors selected the honorees for their channel dedication, industry stature and accomplishments as channel advocates. The 2022 Channel Chiefs are influential leaders who continue to shape the IT channel with innovative strategies, programs and partnerships.

Barry was chosen as a 2022 Channel Chief because of his 25+ years of experience in the channel and his expertise in designing and implementing channel sales and marketing programs that help channel partners be successful.  Barry joined VIAVI in January 2019 and is leading the award-winning Velocity Channel Partner Program, which enables our partners to effectively deliver the unique VIAVI solution set to service providers, network equipment manufacturers and enterprises of all types.

We asked Barry how he is planning to help VIAVI partners succeed in 2022.  Here is what he said:

“This year, in addition to maintaining our dominant position in fiber test and monitoring, we will continue to promote VIAVI as the key player and supplier of test gear in testing and maintaining 5G networks.  We will continue to focus on new ways to enable our Velocity partners to grow their revenue and market share in these areas despite the on-going challenges of the pandemic.”

“CRN’s 2022 Channel Chiefs recognition is given exclusively to the foremost channel executives who consistently design, promote, and execute effective partner programs and strategies,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “We’re thrilled to recognize the tireless work and unwavering commitment these honorees put into fostering outstanding business innovation and building strong partner programs to drive channel engagement and success.”

CRN’s 2022 Channel Chiefs list will be featured in the February 2022 issue of CRN Magazine and online at www.CRN.com/ChannelChiefs.
