Tell us a little bit about yourself and your current role at VIAVI?

I was born and raised in the Midwest of the United States. I began my career with VIAVI in February of 2019, as part of the Enterprise & Cloud BU’s Business Development team. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), I support the field Account teams in their sales efforts to contribute pipeline opportunities and ultimately grow the business year-over-year.

My day-to-day consists of a pretty wide range of sales generation activities. I work directly with Marketing on lead generation campaigns as well as the subsequent qualifying of those leads. I spend a fair amount of time working with our Channel Management team on channel engagement initiatives to build stronger partner relationships. Having a core mindset helps me stay in lockstep with our sales, account and marketing teams, all engaged on the same goals.

Tell us about your favorite hobby and what skills or qualities it enables you to bring to your role at VIAVI.

I am an avid cyclist. Each week, barring snow/subzero temps, I ride roughly 150 miles! Skill sets that weekly cycling requires consist of constant precise action, a high level of awareness, the drive to set and achieve goals, and the persistence to finish what you started.

I feel as though all of those skills are necessary components to any successful endeavor and help keep me focused in my daily work of attracting leads and building relationships.

As someone in sales, I think the best thing that VIAVI offers a new hire, is the knowledge that they are working for a company that has the best solutions! It’s fun that we compete at the top in everything we do. I enjoy my role representing market-leading solutions.
