What is your current role, and what brought you to work at VIAVI?
I arrived at VIAVI a little over 3 years ago. I would say that it was a stroke of luck, I had never heard of the company, and I have to confess, the first thing I did was go to the website to investigate and it was difficult to understand what VIAVI does. Watch this video and you will get it! All of my interviews were over the phone, never in person, and I was so surprised by the warmth of the people and the empathy that I did not hesitate for a moment to agree to collaborate with this company. It has been a great experience, mainly for having the opportunity to collaborate and meet people from different parts of the world from a distance. There is a very special magic in the collaborators and also in the Partners of this company. I feel at home, I feel like a family and today, beyond being colleagues, I work every day with friends that I appreciate and admire. I have worked for more than 24 years with technology companies and without a doubt, I can say that the VIAVI experience has been extremely enriching, both professionally and personally.
How do you help customers, and what is your proudest moment?
I am a Marketing person who is very focused on Sales. I really like to understand the business, and to know how our solutions can solve or improve the user experience. I think that one of the moments that I enjoy the most is when I talk to a prospective customer who tells me that they are not familiar with VIAVI and after connecting they change their perception and realize that VIAVI is the best option to solve their needs. I really enjoy face-to-face contact that helps generate trust and a more connected relationship. Another part of my day-to-day is helping our Partners offer a better approach with their clients through various marketing tools and creating resources that are useful for their local needs. In my role managing all of the Latin America region, the traveling I do is so important to build close relationships with customers and partners, and this is something I really love about my job!
What would people be surprised to learn about VIAVI?
One of the things that most surprises me is that VIAVI has always been a company that is very supportive of the “working from home” set up. This supportive culture allows many team members to have the great opportunity to work from home or from anywhere. In this moment in time where many of us are required to be at home, it has been remarkable that for many of us at VIAVI this did not represent a challenge and that we simply continue working with the inertia of being efficient and productive from anywhere. I love that our company culture allowed us to quickly adapt to the circumstances we find ourselves in today.
