VIAVI Channel Leaders Featured on CRN’s 2021 Women of the Channel List
VIAVI is pleased to announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named three VIAVI leaders Katy Farney, Maribel Ortiz, and Carol Ann McKeown, to the highly respected Women of the Channel list for 2021.
This annual list recognizes the unique strengths, vision and achievements of female leaders in the IT channel. The 2021 Women of the Channel list acknowledges women from all over the IT channel, including vendors, distributors and solution providers.
The women honored on this year’s list pushed forward with comprehensive business plans, marketing initiatives and other innovative ideas to support their partners and customers, helping them through the uncertainty brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic. CRN celebrates these exceptional women for their leadership, dedication and channel advocacy.
In the past year, Katy led her team to remain focused on VIAVI key initiatives while quickly pivoting all in-person training and events to virtual. The transition was critical to stay engaged with our partners and ensure successful involvement with our customers.
In North America, partners remained focused on our Fiber and 5G initiatives and finding ways to cross sell additional products into new markets. Partners aligned closely to vertical markets – Finance, Banking and Insurance, and we made major progress with brand awareness, account mapping and more importantly deal registrations. While the pandemic has had a huge impact on the air carrier market and our AvComm partners, we continue to focus on developing our Master Distributors and Solution Partners. This past year has been a challenge on various levels, but Katy is proud of her team and our North American partners for their achievements and perseverance.
Maribel has spent the last year focused on driving channel management excellence in EMEA and leading her team to achieve business diversification in new areas. Maribel was instrumental in leading the successful integration of the recently acquired 3Z telecom company into VIAVI. The 3Z integration has enabled VIAVI to reinforce our 5G portfolio and strategic Lab to Field strategy together with our partners. Maribel continues to lead her to team to reach new business targets by executing on the strategic principles of the Velocity Partner Program and developing targeted joint partnerships with selected partners in Enterprise growth markets.
During the past year, Carol Ann worked closely with VIAVI regional channel leaders to pivot to digital marketing and enable our channel to continue to market VIAVI products and solutions. She focused her team on creating high-touch marketing engagement including training programs and pre-packaged digital campaigns with local agencies as well as our cloud co-marketing platform. These digital activities were key in equipping our channel to target our customers who are rolling out Fiber in advance of 5G deployments.
To be able to track the success of these programs, Carol Ann led a global lead management training initiative to understand the success of MDF spend in the new environment.
Carol Ann worked with the VIAVI global channel sales leads to roll out our first entirely virtual global partner event, including both global main stage and regional breakout events. We continue to communicate to our partners the value of partnering with VIAVI, and the growth opportunities that are available to them.
Carol Ann has recently retired from VIAVI. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.
“CRN’s 2021 Women of the Channel list acknowledges accomplished, influential women whose dedication, hard work, and leadership accelerate channel growth,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “We are proud to honor them for their many accomplishments and look forward to their continued contributions to the IT channel.”
The 2021 Women of the Channel list will be featured in CRN Magazine on May 10th and online at www.CRN.com/WOTC.
Please join us in congratulating Katy, Maribel and Carol Ann on their accomplishments!
