Tell us a little bit about yourself and your current role at VIAVI?
I joined JDSU/VIAVI back in 2014 when I moved from Nashville, TN to Colorado Springs and joined the first group of iSAMs (Inside Sales Account Managers). Since then, I was able to move into outside sales teams covering Telco, Utilities, Enterprise accounts, and I am now back in Nashville and covering the Midwest for the NA CATV Tier 3 team and looking forward to picking up Cable One / Sparklight account management responsibilities this year. I work close with partners and customers to determine the best test tools in this ever-changing service delivery market. We want to develop long-term relationships with our customers that look to us more as partners than vendors. One of my favorite projects was with Entergy out of Houston, TX. We were directly competing against some of my former colleagues that had moved to competition. The project led to sales of many T-BERD 5800s and I believe they are still buying today.
It’s so great to be able to be surrounded by innovation every day. I love all things “home automation and gaming” – ask me about my MAME arcade cabinet (home Arcade cabinet with over 5000 games from arcade classics to retro Nintendo and Sega games).
Tell us about your favorite hobby and what skills or qualities it enables you to bring to your role at VIAVI.
My two favorite hobbies are golf and playing music. Both require patience and commitment to a process and goals to be better. Golf teaches you a lot about planning ahead, setting yourself up for success, and not staying down for long when things do not go your way. The practice and skills required to improve and be successful in golf and music are attributes I bring to my work in regional sales every day.
