This year, VIAVI once again has a significant presence at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona. At Booth 5B18, the company will showcase approximately 30 demonstrations spanning security and quantum-safe technologies, mission-critical communications, AI data centers, 6G / AI-RAN, as well as AIOps.

AIOps, as this blog illustrates, is an increasingly important area that bridges the gap between complex networks and efficient operations, enabling a transformative approach that leverages AI, machine learning (ML), and big data analytics. The result is more automated, efficient and cost-effective deployments that enhance and optimize operations across end-to-end (E2E) multidomain networks.

With 2026 set to be a key year in the implementation of AI-native networks, MWC presents the perfect opportunity to showcase VIAVI’s position as a leading vendor spanning the full lifecycle, from validation and deployment to autonomous operations.

NITRO AIOps: Redefining Network Operations

While most networks today tend to be fragmented and reactive operations, we’re increasingly starting to see service-centric network operations. At MWC Barcelona, VIAVI will be using its NITRO AIOps platform to demonstrate how these can be implemented and what this will actually look like for the network manager.

During the event, visitors will be able to see how real-time network intelligence can be transformed into deterministic decisions and automated actions, enabling operators to manage complexity, reduce operational risk, and deliver consistent service quality at scale.

Integrated as appropriate with VIAVI’s broader portfolio of assurance capabilities, the NITRO AIOps platform enables operators to gain operational certainty across complex, multi-vendor networks, use AI and predictive maintenance to mitigate costly downtime and lower total cost of ownership (TCO), as well as ensure sustainable network operations. The result is increased operational efficiency, improved monetization and differentiated service performance in even the most complex of consumer and enterprise scenarios.

At the same time, by leveraging precise, subscriber-centric geolocation data, location intelligence technology complements AIOps by enabling operators to identify precisely RAN performance issues, optimize radio configurations, and make confident infrastructure decisions, such as site optimization or decommissioning, based on real-world user experience.

Demonstrations at MWC

At MWC Barcelona, VIAVI’s two dedicated demonstration stations for autonomous networks will run a range of scenarios.

Our first zone looks specifically at AIOps, showcasing the NITRO AIOps platform and its role in AI-native and autonomous network operations. Through a range of live demonstrations, visitors will see end-to-end service visibility emulations across the RAN, transport, core and IP domains. This includes AI-driven alarm correlation/root cause identification, the quantification of service and business impact, and closed-loop automation for executing remediation workflows.

VIAVI will showcase a TM Forum Level 4 Autonomous Network demo involving both intent -based anomaly detection, automated root cause analysis, next-best action and validation through a federated digital twin for a mission-critical network slice using Agentic framework aligned with TM-Forum ODA Canvas.

The second zone examines location intelligence. Here, VIAVI will be looking at how NITRO Location Intelligence turns massive volumes of geolocated subscriber data into actionable insight for network optimization, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. Through live demonstrations, VIAVI will showcase how subscriber-centric location analytics can enable automated RF optimization, as well as virtual drive testing, cluster-level performance analysis, and impact simulation. This includes several use case examples such as radio site optimization and safe site decommissioning. The demo will also include Agentic framework for human language queries into the geolocation system.

VIAVI at MWC Barcelona 2026

MWC Barcelona runs from March 2-5 in Barcelona at the Fira Gran Via exhibition hall.  In addition to AIOps, VIAVI will have demonstration zones for security and quantum-safe networks, mission-critical communications, AI data centers, as well as 6G and the AI-RAN.

We look forward to welcoming you to our booth and demonstrating how AI-driven insight can be transformed into trusted decisions and automated actions that progress the ever-faster transition to fully autonomous network operations.
