What made you want to be a Channel Marketing Manager and Social Media Lead?

I am a people person who loves travelling so I really enjoy my APAC Channel Marketing role at VIAVI. I like communicating and working with channel partners from different countries and cultures, I am constantly learning about the channel business from them. I am passionate about the channel business and greatly motivated by the joint marketing efforts that result in new market development, lead generation and sales enablement. Work as a regional channel sales and marketing personnel for the last 15 years has been both fun and rewarding for me.

The other exciting part of my job at VIAVI is being the APAC Social Media Lead. It is awesome to collaborate with my brilliant colleagues from different departments, different regions while working on social media campaigns that conform to global branding and are customized for APAC audiences. When I see my contributions and ideas getting executed and resulting in good results, I am very motivated.

How would you describe “A Day in the Life” of your current job at VIAVI, and the impact your role has in helping customers or partners?

When I am in my home office, my day starts with conference calls with partners across APAC on market development activities, some days are long, starting with Australian partners and ending with India partners. Every quarter I travel to meet two or three partners in different countries for quarterly business reviews & market development planning, supporting key tradeshows and contractor training workshops. The laborious joint planning & execution of strategic marketing activities becomes worthwhile when these activities help partners attain brand visibility, generate leads and increase sales revenue. In these current unprecedented times, I initiate and assist partners in implementing webinars for contractor customers, online trainings for key customers and refresh their company’s social media and company websites for SEO.

What is your favorite accomplishment or success story with a customer or partner?

One of my favorite partner success stories occurred at the first joint contractor workshop in Jakarta with VIAVI partner Telemedia. The workshop was a full house with 85 attendees packed into the hotel seminar room to the maximum capacity. The contractor attendees were enthusiastic, participative throughout the training and demonstration session. As a result of this effective workshop, Telemedia was able to attain new sales opportunities and close some deals.
